Weekly Writing Check-In: Another Nanowrimo, Plus Launch News

As I announced last week, I defeated another Nanowrimo. Woohoo! After passing 50k I really pulled back and focused on editing over writing, so I went from writing about 2k a day to barely pushing 1k. So that means I finished around 56k, which isn't too shabby, but not my best. I got a lot more work done on REN'AI RENSAI #3, and as of right now, there's only 2 scenes left to write! But the first one has the potential to be rather long, so wish me luck I finish this first draft in the next couple of days!

In other news, "HATSUKOI." officially launched this past Friday, with great success! I really appreciate all my readers and even those just supporting me for doing what they've done. From reblogging, retweeting, liking, tagging, and of course, buying, you guys all do an amazing job helping me realize my career as an author and even making a decent living off it. I would be NOWHERE without y'all!

Makes me even more excited to release three more books this month! ~Stay tuned~

Weekly Writing Check-In: Nano Conquered, Release On the Way!

First, yay! I kicked Nano in the teeth. (Was there ever any doubt? ;)) Sometime yesterday I crossed the 50k line, thankfully. Now I can focus on the edits for "HATSUKOI." while getting writing down at a trickling pace like I was before! I've managed to get Hatsukoi all formatted for kindle and it is now being edited by my Fire. This is an incredibly important step for me, as it allows me to see errors, overused words, and other no-nos that are harder for me to see in Word. I'm on perfect track for getting it released by Friday! (It'll probably be more like Thursday sometime. Either way, I'll be sure to let everyone know when it's out for purchase!)

Please look forward to an official preview coming this Wednesday! If you follow my tumblr, you'll be getting special illustrations and selected quotes from "HATSUKOI." every day up until release!

Onwards!

Weekly Writing Check-In: That Moment Between Can Do And Futility

First, pleased to say that as of tonight I will cross 40k in Nano, and should I keep this up, I'll be done by the end of this week, a whole week early!

That's good I'll be done early. Because "HATSUKOI." will be out NEXT FRIDAY(!!!) and I'm currently in the final edits/formatting stage. Which is gonna take up a lot of time. I mean, I have to go through the editor/beta notes and comments, do a read through, format, read through kindle, read through on scrivener....read it again, blah blah blah. It's gonna be a tight two weeks on the editing front. But I'll prevail, and hope to god that nano doesn't go by the wayside, because I would REALLY LIKE to have Book 3 more or less done by the time Hatsukoi rolls out.

Lawd. Wish me luck. Oh, and there's Thanksgiving in there too, isn't there?

WHELP there goes my free time. Woo!

Weekly Writing Check-In: NaNo Progress

Just a quick check-in for how Nano's going! Well, I'm still chugging on with 2k a day, which puts me a little over 23k. I'll be at the halfway point tomorrow. Earlier this week I finished my first REN'AI RENSAI short that is sure to come out soon, and by the mid-week I should have the second one done! After that it means I can return to book 3, which makes me happy. I needed a break from Book 3 because it got REALLY heavy in the psychological department, and I needed to write some short fluff. But now I'm ready to get back into the long-ass saddle, so bring on the week!

I know there's a lot of people who are already finished or have already "given up." Wherever you are in the Nano road, congrats for getting as far as you have!

Weekly Writing Check-In: NaNo Crawl, Plus Goodreads News

Hey all, just a real quick check-in for nano. Currently have my goal of writing at least 2k a day still going (that's how much I write on average anyway, except now I'm accountable, haha) of the first short coming out next month. I thought it would only be about 7k, but at this rate it'll be between 10-12k. Not complaining, just a little surprised!

In other news, "HATSUKOI." is now available to add to your "To Read" lists at Goodreads! Hooray!

Hope nano is going well for those of you partaking. Keep it up!

The NaNoWriMo Post (2012)

After mulling over a few things this past week, I've decided to go with the "CROSS// Universe Grab Bag" idea, which basically means finishing Book 3 of RR and a couple shorts Nothing glamorous, but it's writing I need to get done like yesterday soooo why not? Woo!

Last year I made an update post for NaNo almost every day. Pretty sure that's not going to happen this week. You can expect my progress updates to happen in my weekly progress reports, if nowhere else. Because I know you all really care!

If you want to add me as a buddy on NaNo, you can find my profile here. Good luck!

Weekly Writing Check-In: One Month Check-In for "DAISUKI."

Hard to believe that one month ago today I released "DAISUKI." unto the world. Since then I've experienced a month of ups and down, growing pains and learning curves. I wish I could tell you that I became a big money-maker overnight, but, ALAS, I have not. But I have no  complaints so far. I am selling more, it seems, than most newbies with only one book out, and I am optimistic that once I get more books out there starting next month everything will work out!

I also wish I could share sales figures with you, but I don't think I'm allowed to from various TOS. But I CAN break down my sales percentages based on sales venues! Currently I have DAISUKI available on Amazon, B&N, Kobo (only took three weeks UGH), All Romance, and Smashwords (inc. expanded distribution to Sony and iTunes.) As of right now at this moment, here's how it's breaking down:

Amazon - 80%
Barnes & Noble - 10%
Smashwords - 10%
All Romance + Kobo - Try again, loser.

My percentages seem to mirror most of my research:  Amazon is a majority of the pie, and B&N comes up second with all the others vying for third. I'm rather disappointed in ARe since most other erotic romance authors told me they did very well there, but I have a feeling my niche (lesbianism. Yeah, it's a niche.) is the main factor here. On a site inundated with MAN PECKS MAN PECKS MAN PECKS you get the idea....

I suppose I should share what's coming up this we - OMG Nanowrimo. Ha. I've decided to go ahead and do the CROSS// universe grab bag. Finishing up book 3 of RR and then writing two shorts for it should push me over 50k. And if not, there's always book 4 to start. BUSY BUSY~

Also, be sure to be here for BOOK 2 TITLE/COVER/BLURB REVEAL ON THURSDAY! It's gonna be hot!

Weekly Writing Check-In: Still Know Nothing About Nanowrimo

Real quick post this week as I've got...things to do. Like writing! and playing Sims 3.

  • Sent off Book 2 of Ren'Ai Rensai to editing and am about 1/3 of the way through with the first draft of Book 3. I'm hoping to do the cover/title/blurb reveal of Book 2, alongside a tentative release date, on November 1st. (If you've bought "DAISUKI." and read through to the end, then you already know the title and the short, short blurb! Lucky you!)
  • Still have no idea what I want to do for Nanowrimo. Usually I work on a CROSS// story but I don't think I'll have time this year. Odds are I'll do odds and ends for Ren'Ai Rensai, but dear god, what to put in the novel field? I'm half tempted to put in CROSS//Revenge again anyway just because I want to keep the dream alive.
  • IT'S GETTIN' COLD. I'm only sharing that because my room is always one of two heating extremes, which means I'm going from melting in my chair/bed to having hands too cold to type. Just like Japan!
Woo!

Weekly Writing Check-In: The Coming of Nanowrimo, and My Lethargy

NaNoWriMo is upon us. In fact, it's about half a month away. Normally at this time of year I'm jumping around all excited like, but this year I'm just not feeling it. Maybe it's because I already write ~50k a month so the "need" for nano is gone. Maybe it's because I'm just BUSY, man. I've got another book AND a short story coming out in November! And you want me to whatta? If it was Camp, I'd probably just forget it, but it's like, real Nano. Lawd.

I have no idea what I'm going to do for Nano. I should be working on just anything from Ren'Ai Rensai, but traditionally I've always worked on CROSS//. I just don't know if I have time this year. I'll probably end up doing a hodge podge of things and just hope it adds up to 50k.

At least my region seems to be a little active, with hopes of a meet up. Thus far though I'm the only "author" author there, and they're asking me about what I publish. Uh. Hmmmm. ;) (You may vaguely remember me being the ML of my area, except for last year when I lived in Japan. Well, it's not happening this year. Simply because I missed the sign up which happened in JULY for some odd reason. And I never received any notice about it. Yay!)

As for my other writing ventures, Book 2 of Ren'Ai Rensai goes off to editing this week, and I'm chugging along on the first drafts of many other things, including Book 3 and a couple short stories coming out by the end of the year. Phew. I'm a busy woman!

What's up with everyone out there in Blogger land? Gonna do Nanowrimo?

Friday Flash: "They're Bulgarian".

For this week's installment of Friday Flash, I've got...nothing new! Well, it's probably new to most of you. But if you ever read my Nanowrimo profile, it's not.

Didn't have time to write up anything new this week. Instead I'm offering up the preview text I have on my Nanowrimo 2011 profile for CROSS//Revenge. It's about 2k words, but most of it is dialogue. Only minimally edited thus far, as is probably obvious. (Still Nano-raw, lots of extraneous words and then some, cause LOL WORD COUNT)

Not gonna offer much background, but it features one of the characters I used in the recent blogfest. And some new ones.

Usual warnings for some crude language, sexuality talk, and a couple violent threats. Basically, a normal day in the CROSS// universe.

Heaven’s Garden was one of those places that looks like a tiny café from the outside, but in reality is a gaping maw of seating and lighting inside. Yumiko removed her sunglasses so her eyes could adjust to the natural lighting while avoiding waiters and hostesses, regardless of how cute the latter were. When Maj. Lewis suggested “hamburgers and salad” Yumiko thought she’d be lucky with Sizzler’s, but by the lack of children and anybody wearing less than their semi-formal wear it was…well, it was what she feared the most: a date.
They sat in the middle of the gallery, on opposite sides of the table, and when Maj. Lewis tried to order on her behalf she responded by kicking her foot into the table and spilling his water all over his lap.
“I’ll have the quarter pound with tomatoes and onion only please. Second lunch set.” Yumiko turned on her smile just for the skinny, tanned waitress.
“Nice appetite, Kobayashi! It’s nice to see a woman who actually eats."
My stomach feels like a bottomless pit of you-shut-your-mouth. “Oh, I’m not opposed to feasting when the moment calls for it.” The waitress was the one to inspire her to use a double-entendre. Yumiko wondered if she could get her number.
“My ex-wife – honestly, can’t remember which one – had this thing about eating food that weighed more than her hand. How does that even make sense? It doesn’t. She has a daughter with another man now. That’s gonna end well, eh?”
Yumiko rolled her eyes. All she heard was “my ex-wife blah blah blah”.
After another awkward declaration about ex-wives – “this other one thought it was her job to eat all the sausage in the house” – Maj. Lewis got up to go use the restroom. Yumiko whipped out her cell phone to send a plea to Miranda to come save her from this heterosexual spectacle.
The waitress walked by once more, but before Yumiko could turn on her charm and invite her over to her apartment later for debauchery she realized she was leading two people to the table behind Yumiko. So much for that.
Yumiko didn’t pay attention to what the people were saying until they actually said something.
“I don’t know why you get to choose everywhere we go.”
“Because I can’t trust you to not, you know, blow our cover. Like you’re doing right now. You need to seriously stop speaking in julah before some other Federation people overhear and realize who we are.”
“And what the hell would you propose I speak?”
“I dunno, something from Earth maybe? Oh, hey, here’s an idea! Speak English! Hell speak some Spanish! Do you know some French? You wanna go to Japan so I hope you know some Japanese, why don’t you try it out on me?”
“You’re a dumbass. How’s that for English?”
“Charming.”
By now Yumiko was huddled in her seat, her sunglasses flung down her nose and her hair as flat and unremarkable as possible. Were these kids stalking her on her purpose or just on total cosmic accident?
The waitress asked what they wanted; Vikkel ordered for both of them since Krista apparently forgot her English. “You spend so much of your time just fucking around. You gonna do anything or just let those mercenaries run all over the world?”
“How about you stop criticizing me for two seconds, huh? Man, you’re cranky today.”
“Probably because I don’t get any sleep. You kick me every ten minutes.”
“Because you’re still in my bed.”
Yumiko relaxed her shoulders. She was scared of these kids?
“Let’s just get this over with.”
Yumiko heard the two of them get up out of their seats, and then…nothing. Did they go to the bathroom? Maybe they could take care of Maj. Lewis for her.
Suddenly two julah were sitting at the table with her.
“You’re Syrfila Tograten, right? You were kinda hard to find,” Vikkel said in English.
Yumiko held up her hands in front of her face – she could feel the contents of her empty stomach filing through her esophagus. “I…I don’t know anyone by that name! My name is Yumiko!”
“Right. Yumiko Kobayashi. How nice.”
Yumiko slumped down in her seat and covered her eyes with her hand. “What do you want with me? Leave me alone and I won’t have to bust your faces in here in front of half the wharf.”
Krista opened her mouth to retort – doubtlessly with a threat – but Vikkel cut her off with a half-smile and further threat. “Don’t worry, we’re not interested in you or your deeds, as swell as they seem to be right here. What rank are you in the nation’s military?”
Yumiko pressed her teeth together. “I’m a major, thank you.” And I got here all on my own, she added.
“Noble. Well, like I said, we’re not interested in taking you into the Federation, as much as my mother would love it…”
            “Vikkel.”
            “What?”
            “You’re projecting.”
He shot his ex-fiancé a glare. “You shouldn’t use our names like that.”
It was Yumiko’s turn to laugh at their misfortune. “Vikkel, huh? Then you must be Vikkel Amyran. And that would make you, who? Krista Ferran? What’s the ambassador’s daughter doing all the way out here?”
“How do you know who we are?”
“Please, your marriage disaster was huge julah news, even Nerilis Dunsman was mumbling about it. Seems that you two have made up, though.”
“That’s none of your concern,” Vikkel said. “We’re not here to talk about us. We are, however, here to talk about Lord Dunsman.”
“Lord Dunsman? Jeez, you julah really are in deep with your titles. I don’t think anyone’s called him Lord since before he blew up his first planet.”
Vikkel sighed and planted his hand against his forehead. “The reason that we’re here speaking with you is not, like I said, to turn you in. We simply want to know what you know about finding Nerilis Dunsman.”
“Oh, so it’s him you’re after?”
            “In a fashion.”
“Well good luck with that. I have no idea where he is. He cut me off and ran away, far from this planet I’m presuming. Last I heard or saw of him he knocked me clear off my feet and beat my ass.”
“Yes, but you may know more than you think.”
            “Oh, is that so?”
Vikkel lowered his hand while Krista, now wonderfully excluded, picked at a scab on her wrist. “We’re interested in contacting a Mr. Yamamoto in Japan. He was the one who…”
“…Dunsman bought the androids from, I know. They were a pain in my ass.”
“Yes. Do you know how to locate him? We only have his last name and, well…”
            “Yeah, good luck with that.”
            “Well?”
Yumiko glanced around the room – there was still no sign of Maj. Lewis, thank goodness. “Even if I did know his real name and how to get in touch with him, why would I tell you?”
“Why wouldn’t you? You have nothing to lose.” Vikkel paused. “But you will have something to lose if you don’t tell us what you know.”
            “Is that a threat?”
“Obviously. We’ll have no qualms alerting the Federation Forces as to your pseudonym here and what you’re making of yourself.”
            “I’d kill you first.”
“Ha!” Krista finally chimed in. “As fucking if! Do you know who we are, sweetie? We’re fuckin’ julah.” She tossed her head back and crossed her legs, Vikkel’s eyes transfixed on her movements as Yumiko silently noted. “Before you’d ever have the chance to break our necks, blast our asses, or blow up my…” Krista glared at Vikkel, “…apartment, I would curse your ass so hard that you’d wake up with every STD in the Federation sprouting from your hips and crawling up into your navel. Ever heard of Vallerkay Spore Worms? I’ll give you a crop of them.”
“Ew.” Yumiko once knew somebody with Spore Worms. No one had looked lovelier than she did with that nice green hue of molding and rotting flesh. “How attractive.”
“Uh, yeah. You should see the pretty pink vagina I gave the male mercenary.”
            “She’s really proud of that.”
“I figured you would do some…a vagina?” Yumiko imagined Devon in her mind, a scrawny, no-one-care waste of a male (but weren’t they all?) who was so far up his own ass over the female mercenary that playing with him was only amusing for about five minutes. The thought of giving that asshole a vagina was something even Yumiko could get behind. She couldn’t wait to tell Miranda later.
“Kobayashi!” Shit, he’s back. “I didn’t know you had some new friends!”
The three of them looked up to see Maj. Lewis, returned from his pleasant sojourn to the bathroom, He pulled out his abandoned chair and sat with a fwump that made Krista cock one dark eyebrow.
“They’re not my friends,” Yumiko informed him. “They were just leaving.”
“You a soldier, boy?” Maj. Lewis flung his hand out and squeezed one of Vikkel’s biceps. “You’re kind of a scrawny boy but you’ve got some nice Marine muscles!”
Vikkel shrugged him off with chagrin. “I…I used to be a soldier…”
“Feh! Once a soldier, always a soldier in your heart! Your parents must be proud.”
            Krista snickered.
“Oh yes, they’re quite proud.” Yumiko remembered hearing from Dunsman all about the plight of Lady Aryman and her disappointment of a lifetime son. From what Yumiko understood of julah culture, academia equaled prestige and love whereas boot stomping equaled disdain and disownment. This kept getting better and better.
            “Who are these charming children?”
            “We’re, erm…”
            “I’m not a chi…”
            “They’re my niece and nephew.”
They all gaped at Yumiko – well, it wasn’t completely far-fetched. Everyone had dark hair, and although neither Vikkel nor Krista looked huling in the face…
“Really? I didn’t know you had any brothers or sisters…hey, aren’t you Japanese?” Maj. Lewis turned to Vikkel. “And what accent is that, boy? Eastern European?”
            “Yup. They’re Bulgarian.”
            More gaping.
            “My family is fucked.”
“We’re, uh…we’re going to go,” Vikkel announced while standing. His full height made Maj. Lewis crane his head back and stare with a “do you play basketball?” face.
Krista stood up as well and said to Yumiko, “You’d better think about what we said. We’ll be in contact with you again later.”
Once they were gone – and they were gone gone, based on the confused look on the waitress’s face when she searched for them later – Yumiko relaxed her shoulders and shot a breath out of her mouth. The only thing worse than dealing with two adolescent julah was…
“Interesting family you have, Kobayashi, although a bit strange…”
…Maj. Lewis.
“What can I say, we keep shit interesting in my family,” Yumiko mumbled. The waitress returned with their orders. Yumiko stared at her knee-length skirt and thought about the only thing that could make her paranoia subside at that moment. She pulled out her cell phone and searched for Miranda’s email address while settling her stomach’s appetite.
For some odd reason, Miranda did not return Yumiko’s text request for sex that night. Instead Yumiko was forced to suffer through a full lunch hour of Maj. Lewis’s bullshit small talk while stuffing her face and wishing she were dead. Maybe it wouldn’t be so bad to just turn herself in to the Federation and have her execution over and done with. It would be especially worth it if it were broadcasted throughout the galaxy and Maj. Lewis managed to see his would-be girlfriend shot by firing squad while giving the camera the biggest finger he had ever seen.

Weekly Writing Check-In: NaNoWriFeb? Let's do it.

...I don't even know what that really stands for. "National Novel Writing February?" NaNoFebMo seems good but that means "National Novel February Month". Which makes just about as much sense.

Anyway, I've come to the conclusion this past week that I must force myself to write as much as possible in February (and indeed, until then) if I am going to get most of Revenge written, allowing me to get back to editing Rebirth. Because right now all I want to do is work on the first draft of Revenge, and I am of the mind that I should write whenever I damn well feel like it.

So anyone with me? I'm thinking between 20-25k for February. Since it''s leap year, that's about 862 words a day for 25k. Definitely doable for me if I keep at it.

This is the only way I will be able to go back to editing without wondering why I'm not writing. So be it!

Weekly Writing Check-In: Wow, it's been a while since I did one of these!

These gals have the right idea.
And thus here we are, staring down yet another December.

I actually like December. It's finally decently cold sometimes, Christmas!, vacations (I leave for America in less than two weeks! Wee!), and Nano is over so I can stop obsessing over making my daily goals. Which means I totally lose track of my daily goals. Whooooops.

I took the past couple of days off but went back into writing today. Finally finished another scene! As for the editing, it has to be put off another week anyway because this week is my monthly business trip and I can't do any adequate editing on my little laptop. Writing? Okay. Editing? Good luck. And to top it off I'm starting another (reading) book this week so there goes even more time.

Also doesn't "help" (and yet totally does) that I've started playing Sims 3 again. Like any game/computer game, it's something that comes in phases before going away again. And right now I'm in a Sims 3 phase. I'm not even a normal Sims 3 player,  I guess. I don't make random Sims to play with, nope, I have to make all my novel sims. And take lots of screenshots. Some that don't even make sense, or some that are events that haven't happened yet that I use for inspiration and reference later on. It's basically a big, expensive storyboard.

And plus it's fun to see characters that will never hook up just kinda fall all over each other because the game mechanics think that's what supposed to happen.

But writing in general has been slow today. I got a scene that I was dragging with done at dinner tonight. As some of you may recall,  I write all my scenes in order. And I'm really trying to finish this chapter so I can get on to the next one which is SUPER FUN and I am SOOOO looking forward to it, seriously. It's got a couple of scenes I've been hankering to write for years now. And it's coming. Oh god it's coming.

Here, have another screenshot of Japanese Catholic high school girls being utterly ridiculous.

Five minutes later, I discovered custom posing. NICE KNOWIN' U ALL.

NaNoWriMo 2011, Day 30: The End..cept not really.

It's officially December 1st here on my side of the Pacific, which means another Nanowrimo has come and gone. I'm quite proud of what has gone on this year in terms of my writing. Not only did I get to meet some great people sharing this common venture, but I blasted my old personal record. See my super hot stats below!

Total Words Written: 67,339
Average Per Day: 2,244
Pages: 125 (single spaced, 12pt TNR)

Absolutely nothing shabby about that - another chunk has been cut into CROSS//Revenge and I couldn't be happier. Well, I could be happier. I didn't get to write ANY naughty scenes within the entirety off November. Heck, two of the main characters never even interacted this year! (Although they will meet up again quite soon.) Actually, funny story - I've been ranting about no naughty scenes all month, and then the moment midnight hits two of my characters about to get it on. You will be all relieved to know that, yes, I just kept writing until I finished the scene. I earned it, damnit!

This draft is far from over. As a combination with last year's Nano, I have well over 120,000 words, and I feel like the first half of the novel is just now coming to a close. It's right on track to matching CROSS//Rebirth in length, which is surprising me since less actually happens in this story, heh. There are SO many secondary characters that I'm worried readers are going to get confused. Most of them pop up throughout the course of the book over and over, but you know, less is more~

I'm giving myself the rest of the week to keep writing. Don't know about next week yet since it's my business trip and writing is easier than editing during that. But I do need to get back to editing Rebirth if I want to stay on schedule for 2013 release.

Whew. This was the easiest Nano for me yet. It's amazing how much I can get done when I don't have homework!

NaNoWriMo 2011, Day 27: 60k+ done.

NOOOOOO.
Day #: 27
Words Written Today:
4144
Total Words Written: 60,009
Total # of Pages: 113

Not only did I manage to break 60k today, but I also wrote over 4k words which I'm preeeetty sure is a record for me. Yeah, I wrote a lot today. Wrote before going to sleep last night, wrote at the local write-in today, and then wrote some more when I got home. It reaaaallly helps that I finally plowed through that "boring" scene and am finally getting to the meatier stuff. I also realized today that my two FMCs only had one interaction in the very first scene and, about 200 pages into this manuscript, still haven't spoken to or seen each other since. Damn plot lines dividing!

My next goal is 65k before the end of the month. Pretty sure I can do it. I really wanted to write 70k this year for nano but it's not gonna happen after the stomach flu last week. Oh well, can't complain!

Also, that stats page cap is freaking me out.

NaNoWriMo 2011, Day 25: Validated

So the validator's been up for a couple of days but I haven't used it because I've been a horrible combination of too busy and too sick to care (which is also where the writing went.)But I did validate tonight and lololol the site always gives me 200 more words than Word does.

So, yup. That's officially 5/5 Nanos won now!

Back to writing before bed - November isn't over yet~

NaNoWriMo 2011, Day 22: Why write when there's TV?

Day #: 22
Words Written Today:
1028
Total Words Written: 53,085
Total # of Pages: 100

Awww yeah, it's procrastination time! That moment has finally caught up to me. When I'd rather watch TV shows than do my writing. Well, not really .But I wanna watch TV because it's cold, I'm still a little sick, and thus wrapping myself up in my futon and sweats and sitting in the dark watching crime dramas and lesbian melodramas is the only acceptable thing to do with my downtime.

Right?

...

damnit.

(in other news, hooray 100 pages!)

NaNoWriMo 2011, Day 21: Still going, minus the infection.

Day #: 21
Words Written Today:
2014
Total Words Written: 52,057
Total # of Pages: 99

As you can see, I am still writing. I have dedicated the month of November to working on this manuscript so I might as well use it, right? Even if I feel like I'm floundering during some hours I know I want to get as much done as I can this month before it's back to editing next month and I wish I could write more.

I ended up taking the day off yesterday because I caught the 24hour flu. Not fun, and I ended up taking today off from work (which you know, for me, means srs bsnss) but I was clear headed enough this evening to get some writing done. I'm kinda annoyed, because I've been whining about wanting to write an "action scene" for so long, and now I'm in the middle of one and I'm too grody feeling to go through with it. Such is life.

NaNoWriMo 2011, Day 19: A Winner Is Me

oh, hey.

So today.

At about 11:55 PM.

I punched into the nano site...

55,043 words.

*cue awesome music and such*

AND THERE WAS MUCH REJOICING.

Yay.

I know I should be more excited than this, but I think I may be getting a cold, which is killing my party times right now. Not much to do about that. But I am happy! I would be happier if my 50000th word was not "had", however.   At least I managed to cross the threshold while writing a flashback sex scene. FINALLY, GRATUITY.

I will keep going throughout November, though. November is my write write write month. My goal tonight is to finish up this scene so I have a place to start off for the write-in I'm going to tomorrow. I don't think I will be very popular there, though...

;)

I just wrote the most bizarre characterization scene I have ever writtten.

Characters that should not be crying are crying and characters that should not be putting out are putting out.

What's going on with this manuscript. idek.
